Makana – KOI AU

This is Makana’s eagerly awaited 2nd release. “Koi Au” is an exquisite CD that transcends the simple label of Hawaiian music. “Koi Au” is a delicate fusion of the sounds of the Pacific and beyond. Makana was a student of slack key guitar great Sonny Chillingworth and he impeccably demonstrates his musical gifts in every tune on this beautifully recorded CD.

In the Hawaiian language, Ki ho’alu means “strong flowing current” and “eloquence”. This describes Makana’s world of music. Koi Au is world cultures and instruments, with a unique tuning all woven together with Makana’s own passion. His style reflect a beautifully crafted recording that is truly flowing in each composition on this CD.

The ladies of Quartette are one of Canada’s most successful Quartettes. They all have successful solo careers as well as with Quartette. They are singers and entertainers. They are songwriters as well and perform to thousands of people across Canada as both their group Quartette and as individual artistss.
